Anything and Everything

As we are approaching Christmas, it’s usual to look back on the year that has just gone. In 1973 when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Tom Lehrer said that satire was now dead. Looking back on the figures who are currently dominating public life and the tawdry behaviour exhibited by many of them, surely satire is not just dead but now totally buried, never to be resurrected.
