Just 3 days into the new year, turbulence is still much with us as the USA with the invasion (Illegal under international law) of Venezuela and the ousting of dictator Nicolas Mauduro.
Invasions of the Americans by the USA are nothing new (Grenada and Panama in particular come to mind) But With Donald Trump as President, a man anxious to flex his muscles on the international stage, this is a worrying development.
Maduro is not someone who is worthy of much sympathy, being the unpleasant dictator that he is, but if the sovereignty of nations still means anything, international law must prevail instead of the law of the jungle.
