In 1977 Fleetwood Mac released the album Rumours. Selling over 40 million copies, it was one of the best selling albums of all time.
The recording took place in the context of relationship problems and heavy drug use within the group.
One of the songs ‘Go your own way’ was an attack by Lindsey Buckingham against his former partner Stevie Nicks. ‘Dreams’ was a scathing reply by Nicks.
It is a tribute to their hard work and professionalism, that Fleetwood Mac produced such a wonderful album, which has stood the test of time, despite all the tension between them.
