For those of us who who have followed Formula 1 motor racing over the years, the older ones like myself will remember the man whose commentary style will never be forgotten.
That man was Murray Walker. He was excitable and enthusiastic but with a computer like knowledge of the sport.
His verbal errors were legendary. ‘Do my eyes deceive me or does Ayrton Senna’s Lotus sound rough?’ And ‘Damon Hill’s car is unique, except for the one behind which is identical.
Whatever his faults, he was a great character and was an integral part of Formula 1. Unless I’m very much mistaken?
