The Day The Music Died

This day in 1959, three young Singers, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, were killed in a plane crash.

All three were outstanding talents and their passing has never been forgotten. In 1972 Don Maclean described his passing as the day the music died in his song ‘American Pie’

Holly in particular, influenced many of those who followed him and at 22, who knows what further he would have achieved if he had lived.
