Is tourism a good thing. I remember reading this week that in Rome a small charge is going to be charged for the viewing area of the Trevi Fountain, to help pay for it’s upkeep.
That seems reasonable as the impact of tourism on big cities is a mixed blessing. Therefore it’s only right that if people wish to enjoy these wonderful places, they should pay for the privilege.
